LET’S USE YOUR IMAGINATION HERE. READY? IMAGINE YOU ARE A COMPANY IN THE INDUSTRY OF YOUR CHOICE AND THAT YOU HAVE BETWEEN 6 AND 15 SECONDS TO GET THEIR ATTENTION. DIFFICULT? YOU BET? IMPOSSIBLE? DEFINITELY NOT!

You already know that content quality is crucial to any company wishing to establish its commitment to the product on the Internet. However, the evolution of the market of information technology has given rise to new communication media, such as computer graphics, or video. All this helped to push the boundaries of creativity when planning publications. In this post, we will look at two new tools that have experienced the fastest growth in 2013, namely Vine and Instagram Video, kings of (very) short-time videos.

A little story

In January 2013 , Twitter launched the first application sharing mini- video clips, Vine . The concept is simple, all users have the ability to record a video of 6 seconds maximum from their Smartphone . Thereafter , they can share it with other users , placing it in the appropriate category, or on the most popular social networks, namely Twitter and Facebook.

In a few months , this application is propelled to the head of the most downloaded apps on the Apple Store. Today , Vine has 13 million users and between 1 and 2 million videos are shared daily.

Vine popularity was such that the response of Facebook didn’t wait, in June 2013 they launch Instagram Video . The concept is the same, except that Instagram offers clips of up to 15 seconds, on which one can directly apply the filters that have made the reputation of this tool, the foundation of this app dedicated to photo. Again success was withering , with impressive statistics showing 5 million videos shared from the day of launch.

Why using these applications ?

If you ‘re still not convinced by the statistics mentioned a little earlier , we have arguments that may well make you reconsider.

The first reason , but also the most obvious we believe is simple to use ! To get his message in a “traditional ” video , a company must go through several stages , from planning to publishing, through filming. Well as a tool Vine makes this whole process a lot easier by integrating all within a single device ! All you have to do is imagine your concept and make your video in a few clicks.

We can also mention the virality of such files. A  study  conducted by Wistia has allowed to show an inverse correlation between the length of a video and commitment of spectators. Translation: Shorter is a clip , better is the chance that the public looks to the end ( logical! ) and thus assimilates the message that the company wants to send ! And if the message is really attractive , sharing will be done virtually instantaneously , creating a Buzz for said company .

Ok, but how do we proceed ?

Not so fast ! It’s all about originality above all . Failing to give you a guideline to follow, so we decided to go our own suggestions. Thus, these two tools could be useful for some purposes , such as:

– Highlighting the human side : It would set aside the corporate side of the business to create a commitment to not ontly the product , but all the work behind . A company could well use this tool to familiarize (future) customers with some of the employees , or to reveal the backstage of product design , for example.

– Demonstration of products or services: Some companies had the idea to use Vine to explain how using their products, making it an even easier decision t make regarding the acquisition thereof . This is a common way to use, but just as effective. You can also take the opportunity to answer the questions in your FAQ , if you want to go even further.

– The creation of Buzz : Companies often sought ways of presenting a new or future product , being clear enough to generate interest and succinct enough to make you want to know more . This could be done through news releases, articles or websites . But what could better fulfill these functions as a video of a few seconds?

There are so many examples of use that we can not mention them all , but if you are looking for inspiration , go and see these  publicités Vine !

Now you can repeat the little imagination exercise mentioned above, and with a little creativity , and surely a few tries, you will surely be able to handily succeed.

Do you have questions? Suggestions? Post them and we will answer via video Vine, to the extent possible of course!
